After another busy season it was good to see so many people gathered in the clubhouse for a celebration of achievements and a good old natter and catch-up. Police Dinghy Nationals - 11th & 12th June
22 boats entered for the PSUK National Dinghy Championships held at the Cheshire Constabulary club at Winsford. 2 days of fantastic racing was promised, with Race Officer Jon Close and team co-ordinating the event on the water. Most competitors arrived at the club on Tuesday evening, to be greeted by a stunning sunny evening and most excellent BBQ. Open Day May 10th and RYA Pathway Status
WFSC has been awarded RYA Pathway Club status in recognition of all the hard work and days of effort put in by everyone on the junior sailing team. RYA Awards Galore!
Congratulations to Zoë Goodden (pictured centre above), who was presented with the RYA Rising Star award, celebrating outstanding contributions by under 25-year-old volunteers, as well as sweeping up the Honor Preston Award for being an outstanding young role model for her efforts in race management and boat management. Sailing into 2024 on the crest of a wave!
It may be February but there is still plenty of action around the club with the Penguins racing on Sundays and RC racing on Wednesdays, not to mention various training courses. New Year's Eve was enjoyed on the water by 30 sailors! 2023 saw achievements both on and off the water to name but a few: New club boats 3 National champions 25% increase in members
