Steve Bellamy
Centre Principal
I started sailing about 30 years ago at Rudyard Lake. I crewed for a chap on a Fireball which is a two man racing dinghy with a spinnaker.
After just one day being taught to helm by a club member I bought myself a Laser and quite simply learnt to sail by capsizing, crashing into things and racing.
The first proper sail training I had was my instructors course in 2009. I became a Senior Instructor in 2012. I am a Powerboat Instructor and Centre Principal.
I have owned 3 Comet single handed dinghies, an RS200 and now sail a Streaker at the club and like to compete in Open meetings and Championships.
