Steve Vandersteen

My name is Steve Vandersteen and I've been sailing with my wife Jane and our Children (and now Grandchildren) for 25 years. Jane's Mum gave us an old Mirror dinghy which we brought back to life, and that's when we joined Winsford. Since then we have sailed GP14's and RS 200's. Two of our children sailed Toppers and then Lasers, and regularly competed on both the North West Junior Travellers circuit and Abersoch Dinghy Weeks.

Sailing has become a big part of our lives and other than being regulars at both Winsford Flash and Coniston, we also enjoy sailing bigger boats around the British Isles.

I am now in my third year as Commodore Sailing and have been an RYA Dinghy Instructor for 2 years, albeit I have been helping out with Training for many years prior to that.

Sailing is a brilliant sport to be involved in, whether you are competing or just cruising around and enjoying the surroundings. I will always make myself available to help anyone who wants to give it a go.
