RYA Awards Galore!

Congratulations to Zoë Goodden (pictured centre above), who was presented with the RYA Rising Star award, celebrating outstanding contributions by under 25-year-old volunteers, as well as sweeping up the Honor Preston Award for being an outstanding young role model for her efforts in race management and boat management.
Victoria Skelding received the RYA Guiding Light award to recognise her hard work in leading projects and initiatives that have delivered positive impact to their organisation and grassroots sailing.
Jon Close received the RYA Unsung Hero award, presented for remarkable contributions to sailing and for his selfless dedication of time and efforts to enhance the boating community.
Finally the club itself achieved recognition as a finalist for the RYA Young Person's award, which recognises inspiring clubs who encourage participation, development of skills and volunteering for all their young people.
The presenters were Hannah Diamond, Woman's America's Cup sailor and Professor Sir Michael Arthur, RYA Chairman, at the RYA Dinghy Show at Farnborough on the 23rd of February.
